4 Tips for Great Flossing

Flossing, for some, can seem like a tedious task. This is one reason why some people seldom bother to floss at all! And yet, all it takes is a little practise and patience to master the art of flossing.

Here are some simple steps to guide you on to flossing mastery:

  1. To begin, take about 18 inches of floss. Wrap both ends around your middle fingers, and use your thumbs and index fingers to pinch the floss. Make sure to leave a space(about 2 inches) in between both fingers.
  2. With a gentle “shoeshine” motion, guide the floss in between your teeth. Be careful not to “snap” the floss in between teeth.
  3. While holding the floss firmly with your fingers, slide the floss gently, in an up-and-down motion. When the floss hits the gumline, form a “c” shape upon flossing, so that it will follow the contours of your tooth.
  4. Remember to use fresh sections of the floss when flossing each tooth.
Try the above before the end of the day and let us know what you thought!
